I am a lover of Bond films. Sean Connery is the best with the others like split personalities of the true Bond. Moore plays the fun one without any worries. Dalton plays the romantic sad one, Brosnan was just so handsome but with an edge and Craig is the angry Bond. I have not seen the whole movie with The Rock and Scott but it looks like a fun movie. Geez....how much oil did they lather Scott up in? He is like a slip and slide, by the way, whatever happened to him?Birgithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09439720285857050428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3990332416861666709.post-29652687117237033982020-07-10T08:11:20.747-05:002020-07-10T08:11:20.747-05:00Any list with Inception at the top is a good list!...Any list with Inception at the top is a good list! So loose and charming. JGL makes a strong impression too but it's really Hardy's film.

I wouldn't say I'm an ardent Bond fan but I've grown to like them more as the years have passed. I think I've seen them all and while Sean Connery will always be the real 007 for me Daniel Craig does an excellent job with the role. Skyfall was a terrific chapter in the series.

I know I saw The Rundown and thought it was a fun time passer at the time I have nearly zero memory of the actual storyline.....I could say that about all The Rock's movies though. I think producers after years of having beautiful girls in wet skimpy swimsuits for men to ogle finally realized that a well placed and equally glistening himbo might draw some female customers.

My first thought was Around the World in 80 Days but while I love the Jules Verne story I hate that movie and consider it the worst best picture winner ever. So I moved on to three from the 60's that I was able to tie together.

The Great Race (1965)-Spoof of old time serials with the hero-The Great Leslie (Tony Curtis) all dressed in gleaming white and his sidekick Hezekiah (Keenan Wynn) going head to head with snidely Professor Fate (Jack Lemmon chewing on every piece of scenery in sight) all in black and his faithful assistant Max (Peter Falk) in a continent spanning motor race from New York to Paris at the beginning of the 20th century. Complicating matters is fellow racer, journalist and suffragette Maggie DuBois (Natalie Wood-never lovelier) who butts heads with Leslie as they head over land and sea to their goal. Shootouts, duels, pie fights and all manner of complications ensue!

Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines (1965)-In 1910 a wealthy British newspaper publisher Lord Rawnsley (Robert Morley) offers 10,000 pounds (about a million today) to the winner of an air race between London and Paris, a great distance at the time. The contest draws an eclectic and eccentric gaggle of fliers and amateurs including Rawnsley’s rebellious daughter Patricia (Sarah Miles) who compete in all forms of airborne crates including hot air balloons!

Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies (1969)-The 1,500 mile Monte Carlo rally passing through England, Paris, Monaco, Monte Carlo, Monte Gelato Falls, the Treja River, Italy, Åre, Jämtlands and län, Sweden in the 20’s is the setting for this wacky sequel to Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines with some of the characters returning plus Tony Curtis from The Great Race as a brash American. joel65913https://www.blogger.com/profile/14526657073681774683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3990332416861666709.post-2473718101866208002020-07-09T08:24:42.740-05:002020-07-09T08:24:42.740-05:00Inception is terrific.
