2025 Screen Actors Guild Winners

The SAG awards return to us live and uncensored on Netflix. (was so caught off guard when Colin Farrell's F bomb went through without being muted) Kristen Bell hosted. She started off really shaky, but her rendition of "Do You Want To Be An Actor" brought it home. Jane Fonda received the lifetime achievement awards and gave a powerful speech that is sure to make a bunch of clowns big mad, and we even got a few surprises! Below are my thoughts on the winners.  I went 11/15 with my picks this evening.

Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture
A COMPLETE UNKNOWN
ANORA
CONCLAVE
EMILIA PÉREZ
WICKED
I feel like Conclave is officially our Best Picture front runner now, right? Selfishly, even though I liked other movies better, I'm good with this because the first thing that came out of my mouth when the credits started to roll on Conclave was "This movie is winning Best Picture" and sometimes I love being right.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role
ADRIEN BRODY  – “THE BRUTALIST”
TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET - “A COMPLETE UNKNOWN”
DANIEL CRAIG  – “QUEER”
COLMAN DOMINGO – “SING SING”
RALPH FIENNES  – “CONCLAVE”
Timmy! I think Colman should be winning everything for Sing Sing but I can't not be happy for Timothee here. I was getting tired of Brody winning. Plus, I love that he got up there and admitted he wanted to be one of the greats. It's not often you hear actors talk like that (and not sound like a complete douche while doing so) and Timothee will very likely be one. I'm glad we have a race here.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role
PAMELA ANDERSON – “THE LAST SHOWGIRL”
CYNTHIA ERIVO – “WICKED”
KARLA SOFÍA GASCÓN / – “EMILIA PÉREZ”
MIKEY MADISON  – “ANORA”
DEMI MOORE  – “THE SUBSTANCE”
Everyone wondering if Mikey still had a change at upsetting Demi, I think this is the final nail in that coffin. This woman is winning the Oscar. Side note - Karla's photo looked like a damn mug shot. They tried so hard to pretend she wasn't in Emilia Perez all night and then had no way around it here. I laugh.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role
JONATHAN BAILEY  – “WICKED”
YURA BORISOV  – “ANORA”
KIERAN CULKIN “A REAL PAIN”
EDWARD NORTON  “A COMPLETE UNKNOWN”
JEREMY STRONG  – “THE APPRENTICE”
I will never tire of Culkin's hilariously awkward speeches. Dude got up there and immediately threw a shot at Adrien Brody, then apologized. Legend.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role
MONICA BARBARO  – “A COMPLETE UNKNOWN”
JAMIE LEE CURTIS – “THE LAST SHOWGIRL”
DANIELLE DEADWYLER– “THE PIANO LESSON”
ARIANA GRANDE – “WICKED”
ZOE SALDAÑA  – “EMILIA PÉREZ”
Zoe continues to be a lock.

Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture
DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE
DUNE: PART TWO
THE FALL GUY
GLADIATOR II
WICKED
I think we all figured the movie about a Stunt Guy would win here.

Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series
BRIDGERTON
THE DAY OF THE JACKAL
THE DIPLOMAT
SHOGUN
SLOW HORSES
The clips they showed made me realize I really should start Jackal, Diplomat and Slow Horses. I'm going to be sad that I no longer get to witness Shogun win things.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series
JAVIER BARDEM – “MONSTERS: THE LYLE AND ERIK MENENDEZ STORY”
COLIN FARRELL  “THE PENGUIN”
RICHARD GADD “BABY REINDEER”
KEVIN KLINE “DISCLAIMER”
ANDREW SCOTT  – “RIPLEY”
I'm so happy Colin keeps winning things for The Penguin. Richard Gadd got plenty of Emmy love, so I can't feel too bad for his loss here when my boy Colin is killing it.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series
KATHY BATES  “THE GREAT LILLIAN HALL”
CATE BLANCHETT – “DISCLAIMER”
JODIE FOSTER /– “TRUE DETECTIVE: NIGHT COUNTRY”
LILY GLADSTONE – “UNDER THE BRIDGE”
JESSICA GUNNING – “BABY REINDEER”
CRISTIN MILIOTI – “THE PENGUIN”
I wish Cristin and Jessica could've shared this. It's criminal having to choose between those two performances. Loved Gunning's speech about how she had an office job while acting. I love it when "unknowns" win like this. Sent from my iPhone.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series
TADANOBU ASANO  – “SHOGUN”
JEFF BRIDGES  – “THE OLD MAN”
GARY OLDMAN – “SLOW HORSES”
EDDIE REDMAYNE  – “THE DAY OF THE JACKAL”
HIROYUKI SANADA – “SHŌGUN”
Sweep! Sweep! Sweep!

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series
KATHY BATES  – “MATLOCK”
NICOLA COUGHLAN  – “BRIDGERTON”
ALLISON JANNEY  – “THE DIPLOMAT”
KERI RUSSELL  – “THE DIPLOMAT”
ANNA SAWAI – “SHŌGUN”
Her walk to the stage was that of a woman who deeply regrets her shoe choice. But she looked amazing and I shared her sadness at this being the last time we get to celebrate Shogun together. (Yes, the viewers get to be included in "we")

Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series
ABBOTT ELEMENTARY
THE BEAR
HACKS
ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING
SHRINKING
This win baffles me. Martin and Short weren't even there, because of course they wouldn't be when their show finally wins something. I hate this win, I'm sorry, but over Hacks, Abbott AND The Bear? Criminal.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series
ADAM BRODY  – “NOBODY WANTS THIS”
TED DANSON - “A MAN ON THE INSIDE”
HARRISON FORD - “SHRINKING”
MARTIN SHORT  – “ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING”
JEREMY ALLEN WHITE  – “THE BEAR”
Voters really turned on The Bear this year. Short had COVID so he wasn't there to collect.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series
KRISTEN BELL - “NOBODY WANTS THIS”
QUINTA BRUNSON  – “ABBOTT ELEMENTARY”
LIZA COLÓN-ZAYAS – “THE BEAR”
AYO EDEBIRI  – “THE BEAR”
JEAN SMART - “HACKS”
Smart was filming so she wasn't there, but the show did start with a pretty amusing Hacks sketch, so at least we did see a little of her tonight.

Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series
THE BOYS
FALLOUT
HOUSE OF THE DRAGON
THE PENGUIN
SHOGUN
Keep collecting that gold, Shogun.

  1. I saw a bit of it. It looked fun as I am happy for Demi. I am shocked that Timothee won. I did like the ovation Pamela Anderson got since she is a nominee and presented Kiernan Culkin his award. She's finally getting some respect which is a good thing.

    1. Even though I had so many problems with that movie, I'm happy for Pam too. Timothee winning was the biggest shocker of the night. I'm glad he picked up something though. He really nailed Dylan's singing.

  2. One of the reasons I genuinely love watching so much media is that I allow myself to change my opinions on people. Ten years ago, my opinon on Colin Ferrell was that I didn't care about anything he did except for In Bruges.

Today? I am so pleased for him, and I'll actively seek out his films.

    1. Ha! I used to view Colin Farrell as just a generic hot guy, then he started picking better movies and I realized how great of an actor he was. Love that dude so much.

  3. I didn’t watch this but I’d be surprised, shocked and gobsmacked if Demi Moore and Zoe Saldana didn’t win the Oscar. I will see those pics soon enough. I just watched September 5 tonight and it brought back the vivid memory when I was 8 and seeing the pure evil of that killer in the balaclava on the balcony. I was only 8yrs old, but I was in shock seeing that person. I thought it was evil and I knew, then and there, that the athletes would all die. I found it a very good film and how it went down. I still believe Conclave is better but I haven’t seen any others so far.

    1. That's crazy. I'm not surprised you still remember that vividly. It's like how 9/11 is all ingrained in us. Watching pure evil on the news like that never leaves you.
