Series Review: Severance Season 2

I was talking about Severance with my friends recently, and one of them remarked on how he hopes the show doesn't "end up like Lost" and not answer all the questions it asks. Thankfully, this season answered a lot of our burning questions. As always with on going seasons, I'm splitting this review up into the good, the bad, and what I'm looking forward to.

The Good
* Tramell Tillman is an absolute treasure. I have big "i can fix him!" energy when it comes Mr. Milchick. I just know he's got good in him somewhere. With every episode, I feel we're getting closer to him turning. Or at least I can hope.
* We know what the MDR team is going! They could've easily dragged that out another season, but I'm glad we got our answers now.
* Less Ms. Cobel. Patricia Arquette is fine, and I thought what we learned about her character this season was very interesting, but I liked that we had less of her and more of Mr. Milchick and the introduction of Miss Huang this season.

The Bad
* I missed the dynamic of the core four for the entire season. While we start out with Irving, Dylan, Mark and Helly together, they eventually separate and I found I missed them working together.
* Dichen Lachman's expressionless acting. At first I thought it made sense for Ms. Casey to show no emotion, but as the series went out, I realized that's just Lachman's choice and it comes off as pretty bad compared to the performances everyone else is giving.
* I expected more of Irving's story. Don't get me wrong, we did learn a few things, and John Turturro is great, but I was underwhelmed at where we left him.
* Not enough Gwendoline Christie.

What To Look Forward To
* Obviously everything with the innies
* I hope they dive into what Lumon does with the kids in their care, especially now that they've introduced as to Miss Huang, and hinted at what happened to Ms. Cobel. There's a lot of story there
* Irving...come back!

Overall, I thought season 2 was great. It's hard to follow a such a strong debut like they had with their first season, but I found it very well balanced with answering questions while still giving us plenty to look forward to.

Did you watch season 2? What did you think?
