Thursday Movie Picks: 2019 Movies You're Looking Forward To

It's time to start looking forward. Wanderer wants to know what movies you're looking forward to in 2019 the most. There's a handful of films I can't wait to see, these are the biggest ones.

1) Avengers: Endgame

I'm a Marvel bitch for life and Infinity War just gets better with every watch. I can't wait to see how they wrap it up. I just hope our dusted characters get to come back before the last 15 minutes of the film.

2) Star Wars Episode IX

I loved The Last Jedi and I can't wait to see how Rey, Kylo and Finn's stories wrap up. I am a bit nervous about JJ remaking Return of the Jedi or undoing some of the things Rian Johnson did (Like Rey being a random, which is really the best decision ever) but I can't not be hyped for a Star Wars movie that has to do with this trilogy.

3) How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

I fell in love with the first film because of its beautiful score, now it's become a series I love watching with my own child. I'm looking forward to the third and final film in this trilogy.

  1. I know I am gonna see these no matter what. Even if im not anticipating them as much as others. The last Star Wars (before Solo) was a massive let down for me.

    1. I loved The Last Jedi, Solo was the the "meh" one for me, but I didn't feel let down because I didn't expect it to be good in the first place.

  2. I'm looking forward to the new Star Wars too but I'm afraid their going to remake Return of the Jedi.

    1. I am too, hopefully some of Rian Johnson's mind rubbed off on JJ so he doesn't do that.

  3. I'm Avenger'd out, could not care less about Star Wars and your last is animated which is not my cuppa so I'm afraid none of these are on my list.

    I'm looking forward to these:

Greyhound (Tom Hanks & Elisabeth Shue)-Nazi U-boats pursue a convoy of Allied ships during the early days of World War II. Love Hanks and Shue and like war films so if everything comes together it should be good.

Rocketman (Taron Egerton)-A biopic about Elton John. It's a well worn genre but at least the music will be good for sure and I think Egerton is good casting.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (Brad Pitt & Leonardo DiCaprio)-In 1969 Los Angeles, a former Western star and his longtime stunt double struggle to find success in a Hollywood that they don't recognize anymore. I'm variable on Tarantino and I'm very concerned how Sharon Tate's and the other murders will be presented but with that cast I'm willing to wait and see.

    1. I share your same concern with Once Upon a Time which is why it's the first Tarantino film I'm not looking forward to. I'll probably still see it, but I'm iffy.

I haven't heard of Greyhound but those actors are good! I'm pretty meh on Elton John so I don't know if I'll see Rocket Man.

    1. I keep a list too for my sidebar and I think I already have like 20 films on it. I don't usually start with that number, Sundance has to influence me. lol

  5. WAIT - WHEN DID HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON MOVE TO NEXT YEAR?!?!? I love those movies SO MUCH.

I personally think the end of Infinity War was kind of cheap, but the trailer for Endgame is pretty damn great.

  9. Yes for Avengers: Endgame, I can't wait to see it. There's also Triple Frontier (Garrett Hedlund & Charlie Hunnam for the win) and some other indie movies that peaked my interest. I think it's gonna be a good year for movies!

  10. All very good choices and I think the only one I'm not so much excited is Star Wars... whoops. I wasn't a fan growing up and it's hard to fangirl over it now.. but Marvel, I agree, I'm a bitch for it for life too!

    1. I can understand about Star wars. I grew up with it.

      Yay for Marvel bitches!

  11. Nice picks! I pretty much agree with all of them. Especially Endgame. I hope Chris gets more than five minutes of screentime. Even though they took away his beard, I want to see as much of Steve as possible. And, it'd be nice if the one thing J.J. keeps from Last Jedi is Rey's lack of 'famous' parents. I loved that she was a random person too, and it ties together with the kids on Canto Bight.

    1. Exactly. Rey being a secret Skywalker/Solo was the worst thing the franchise could do. I would've accepted a Kenobi or Palpatine descendant but her just being a random is so much more interesting.

It think we'll he seeing a lot of Cap in Endgame, I'll probably cry when he and Tony meet again.

  12. Star Wars for me because it is Star Wars.
