RIP Shirley Temple

Well 2014 is getting off to an awful start with actors passing away. Shirley Temple passed away today at the age of 85. She was surrounded by her loved ones. I was a huge Shirley Temple fan when I was a kid. I happened across one of her movies when I was around 6 or 7, and immediately asked if I try tap dancing, which I did until I hit Jr. High. Back then, AMC was kind of known for just playing classic movies, so every Sunday I'd get the TV Guide in the mail and try to record every single one that came one. I think I eventually had most of them on tape. Shirley gave up acting in her early 20's and became a foreign diplomat, but she was never too far form the public eye. Here are a few of my favorite scenes from her movies. RIP Shirley Temple. Thanks for the memories.

  2. She is truly an icon in the cinema. How can anyone not love Shirley Temple or "I'm the good ship, lollipop"?

    1. I almost put Good Ship Lollipop in here, but I figured everyone else would have it.

  3. Such a sad loss. An amazing talent and the epitome of class. This is such a nice tribute.

  4. It's just terrible. I kinda grew up with her films too, as my younger sisters watched them when they were younger. Ugh. I dread watching the Oscar In Memoriam segment. :(

    1. I know. Between her and Philip Seymour Hoffman, I'm going to lose it.
