What I Watched on TV in May

There's still a few days left in May but my TV watch for the month has ended. Here's a quick recap of what I've been watching last month.

Game of Thrones

Wow. Wooooooooooooooow. GoT has consistently been one of my favorite shows on television but they flopped hard at ending this. These past few seasons were just way too rushed and they completely ruined one of my favorite characters, Jaime Lannister, by having him regress back to the character he was in the first few episodes. That's the most egregious thing to me. I'm pretending the season ended after Jaime and Brienne fucked. I'll save you all the long winded rant.

Veep

Another wonderful show that ended this year is Veep. This season hasn't been the best, but they ended it in the same spirit they've had all season..which is mean as hell. I was so sure they'd end with Jonah being president and the fact that they didn't do that was nice. It hits too close to home.

Chernobyl

This HBO mini series is outstanding. Before I started watching it had been a long time since I had a refresher on everything that happened after the Chernobyl disaster and seeing just how incompetently some things were handled is so hard to watch. The actors are amazing. Sure, it's awkward that they are all speaking English but if you can get past that this is really worth the watch

Attack on Titan

The second half of season 3 debuted on Crunchroll late last month and I've been loving it so far. I read ahead in the manga this winter so seeing some of these amazing scenes animated has been a treat. Even if you're not into anime, I higly recommend this.

    1. I'm sad we never got to find out what he did for her on that Labor Day lol. Poor Gary indeed.

  2. If I had stuck all the way through with Game of Thrones. That ending would've pissed me off. Bran? Seriously? The kid in the wheelchair? FACKING BULLSHIT!!!!!!

That finale in Veep... wow... how close to reality it is and Meyer's choice as VP... of all the people. That guy... ugh...

I haven't seen much of Chernobyl but I definitely want to.

    1. See, King Bran doesn't bother me. I actually think that works, but what doesn't is that they completely stripped him of his personality. Bran is one of my favorite characters but turning him into Dr. Manhattan was a terrible idea.

  3. I wasn't mad at how GoT ended, although it wasn't my dream ending. But Jaime Lannister going back to Cersei after everything he had been through and achieved?! ARGH. It's unforgivable. Brienne deserved better.

    1. Jaime's ending was some ol' bullshit and I feel bad for Nikolaj Coster-Waldau at this point for trying to sell it when it seemed pretty clear to me he wanted Jaime away from Cersei.

  4. Woah I didn't know there was a show about Chernobyl. I've always been obsessed with everything about that for reason. Gonna check this out

As for GoT.... I feel sorry you =P

  5. GoT is the only I’ve seen and, yes, it was a huge disappointment. I can’t believe my brother liked it.

  6. How good was Chernobyl?! I had to watch some of episode 4 on mute (yeesh), but I appreciated everything about that show. The final episode was remarkable.

    1. Excellent! Episode 4 was so brutal, no wonder the creators had to get on Twitter and be like "Don't worry, we're done killing everything in the next episode!"

  7. I'm currently watching Cernobil now (2 episodes left) and I love it. It's very well done and the performances are great. It's also one of the scariest movies I've ever seen, and that says a lot, considering it's not a horror. So many goosebumbs
