Series Review: Agatha All Along
I'm very late with this write up, but how wonderful was Agatha All Along? Wandavision has been my favorite Marvel TV show to date, and this was a lovely follow up. It kept the spirit of its predecessor and was a fun story over all. As always, here are my likes, dislikes, and things to look forward to.
LIKES
* The costume changes! I love how they kept the theme of the changing decades by having them in different outfits with each task. That was a fun way to pay homage to the original
* The acting was amazing. I laughed so hard at Kathryn Hahn's Kate Winslet in Mare of Easttown impression in the first episode.
* Ages three and up for a Ouija board.
* The way Billy came to be made sense.
* Agatha continued to be a good mix of the villain we know her as in the series, and the more grey version she is in the comics
*TEENAGER! (she used his full name)
DISLIKES
* Billy Maximoff, do NOT speak about your mother that way!
* No Wanda cameo - which was always wishful thinking on my part, but I digress
* I didn't love how Billy somehow remembers Tommy, but nothing of Wanda and Vision. It didn't make sense for him to get snippy with Agatha over Wanda being his mother and they barely brought up Vision at all.
MOVING FORWARD
* Obviously we don't know if Agatha will get a second season. It did make the switch from Limited Series to Comedy Series for awards consideration, but I do look forward to Billy and Agatha hopefully reuniting with Wanda and Tommy in the future. Anything Marvel can do to get the bad taste of Multiverse of Madness out of my mouth is welcomed.
I for one shall not have any slander of Wanda Maximoff around me as well. I'm with you on that. It is an excellent show as it's probably the best thing since She Hulk. I am so eager for a family reunion though I do recall that Vision is going to have a show of his own and I think he will be the one to discover Tommy Maximoff. I want that family to reunite, stay in Westview, New Jersey. Have some fun. Kill some bad guys and play Fortnite with the rest of the Avengers.
ReplyDeleteYes, Visionquest! (if they're still calling it that. It might have changed) I would honestly not complain at all if they retconned MOM and just pretended that movie didn't happen lol
DeleteI love WandaVision though I'm disappointed by what Marvel did to Wanda character in the last Doctor Strange movie. Somehow I'm not that interested in this one though, I think I'm just Marvel-ed out after the horrendous Secret Invasion, ugh.
ReplyDeleteSo am I. I never finished Secret Invasion. I watched the first episode and that was a hard "no thank you" from me. I do want to watch Echo eventually. Maybe right before Daredevil comes back.
