Weekly TV Round up: Praise Be Half Man

No new theater watches for me this week so here's what I'm watching on the small screen.

Half Man (Episode 3)
We have a 3 year time jump from episode 2. Niall is finishing college, and Rueben is going to trial for his attack on Alby. I felt we learned so much more about Rueben in this episode. We already knew he didn't like his father, but the reasons for why it runs so deep really came out in this episode. Ep 3 was frustrating to watch. It's hard watching Niall contemplate lying, it's hard to watch his mom try to manipulate him into doing so, and of course it's hard to see Alby again post his assault. Bless Richard Gadd's brilliant mind though, this is the best show I'm watching on TV right now. I'm glad we'll start seeing more of Gadd and Bell next week. Nothing against the younger lads, they've been great, but I really want more of adult Niall and Rueben.

The Testaments (Commitment) After last week focused heavily on Lydia's back story we get more of Daisy's this week (and a return from Rita!) This entire match making procedure the girls are going through is so horrifying. I read a lot of people being frustrated with Agnes asking Becka not to pick her Guardian as a husband, but I think people are forgetting that these are teenage girls we're watching. Everything they've done so far is pretty in line with what it's like to be a teen. There's only 3 more episodes of this season, and we're barely even through the first half of the book. I still hope they settle on 3 seasons for this show. I think that's reasonable given where we are in the story.

Euphoria (Kitty Likes To Dance) Honestly, wtf are we even doing with this show? In terms of Rue's story, this episode was good to her, in that she sees the *real* side of the club she works at, but Jules and Lexi's scenes this week were so distractingly bad. Lexi's story is already a stretch, but Jules blowing her chance like she did? Why? What is the point?

Hacks (Quikscribbl & Montecito)
I'm here for any stance taken against AI in the art space, so it was nice to see Deborah come to the same conclusions Ava did at the silly AI joke start up they explore in Quikscribbl. Montecito was definitely the stronger episode with guest performances from Cherry Jones and Leslie Bibb that worked very well.

Daredevil: Born Again (The Northern Star) I finally started season 2 of Daredevil. I'm still annoyed at them killing Foggy and making Matt and Karen a couple again. Yes, there are other more important things in this show, but those are two things off the bat that I just don't like. Still giving the whole season a chance.
