2025 Golden Globes Winners

That's a wrap for the Golden Globes! Host Nikki Glaser actually killed it. Easily one of the best hosting jobs in recent memory. The only joke of hers that flopped was the Diddy one. I still wish there were less presenter banter but I will never get that wish. I also live "tweeted" on BlueSky for the first time instead of Twitter, which felt like the end of an era, but Musk really tanked that platform. I do miss it, though. There's so many great movie fans there.  I went 14/27 with my picks. Below is a list of winners + my thoughts!

BEST MOTION PICTURE, DRAMA
The Brutalist
A Complete Unknown
Conclave
Dune: Part Two
Nickel Boys
September 5
Boy did I swing and miss with my "Globes are going to go crazy for Conclave" predictions. Brady Corbet ended his speech championing directors getting the final cut. It got an interesting reaction. I'm looking forward to seeing this, hopefully my theater gets it before the Oscars.

BEST MOTION PICTURE, MUSICAL OR COMEDY
Anora
Challengers
Emilia PĂ©rez
A Real Pain
The Substance
Wicked
Anora, you won in my heart.

BEST DIRECTOR, MOTION PICTURE
Jacques Audiard – Emilia PĂ©rez
Sean Baker – Anora
Edward Berger – Conclave
Brady Corbet – The Brutalist
Coralie Fargeat – The Substance
Payal Kapadia – All We Imagine As Light
Brady Corbet's cute little daughter was crying when he won and that was so sweet. After listening to the Next Best Picture podcast earlier this morning, I knew I should've chosen him as the winner.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MOTION PICTURE, DRAMA
Pamela Anderson – The Last Showgirl
Angelina Jolie – Maria
Nicole Kidman – Babygirl
Tilda Swinton – The Room Next Door
Fernanda Torres – I’m Still Here
Kate Winslet – Lee
This was a huge shock! (though not really, because of the foreign voters) but still, I didn't clock it and you can tell she didn't expect it either. Cool win.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MOTION PICTURE, MUSICAL, OR COMEDY
Amy Adams – Nightbitch
Cynthia Erivo – Wicked
Karla SofĂa GascĂłn – Emilia PĂ©rez
Mikey Madison – Anora
Demi Moore – The Substance
Zendaya – Challengers
Love this win! Mikey got a huge cheer when they said her name, so I love that she's still very popular with everyone.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN ANY MOTION PICTURE
Selena Gomez – Emilia PĂ©rez
Ariana Grande – Wicked
Felicity Jones – The Brutalist
Margaret Qualley – The Substance
Isabella Rossellini – Conclave
Zoe Saldaña – Emilia PĂ©rez
I'm still crabby that she's winning for a LEAD performance but she was crying during her speech so I can't feel too bad.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE, DRAMA
Adrien Brody – The Brutalist
TimothĂ©e Chalamet – A Complete Unknown
Daniel Craig – Queer
Colman Domingo – Sing Sing
Ralph Fiennes – Conclave
Sebastian Stan – The Apprentice
This surprised me because I thought Fiennes had this easily.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE, MUSICAL, OR COMEDY
Jesse Eisenberg – A Real Pain
Hugh Grant – Heretic
Gabriel LaBelle – Saturday Night
Jesse Plemons – Kinds of Kindness
Glen Powell – Hit Man
Sebastian Stan – A Different Man
Is Stan more of a contender then we thought? Even though I was rooting for Eisenberg, I'm happy for him.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN ANY MOTION PICTURE
Yura Borisov – Anora
Kieran Culkin – A Real Pain
Edward Norton – A Complete Unknown
Guy Pearce – The Brutalist
Jeremy Strong – The Apprentice
Denzel Washington – Gladiator II
I loved him referencing his first Golden Globe nom for Igby Goes Down. He's still a co-lead, but he's likely going to sweep.

BEST SCREENPLAY, MOTION PICTURE
Anora
The Brutalist
Conclave
A Real Pain
Emilia PĂ©rez
The Substance
I was starting to doubt myself with this pick but I actually got it right!

BEST ORIGINAL SCORE, MOTION PICTURE
The Brutalist
Challengers
Conclave
Dune: Part Two
Emilia PĂ©rez
The Wild Robot
Yes! I wanted them to win this so badly. Happy to be wrong here.

BEST ORIGINAL SONG, MOTION PICTURE
“Beautiful That Way” – The Last Showgirl
“Compress/Repress” – Challengers
“El Mal” – Emilia PĂ©rez
“Forbidden Road” – Better Man
“Kiss the Sky” – The Wild Robot
“Mi Camino” – Emilia PĂ©rez
I thought the new Emilia Perez songs might split votes, but I guess not. It is probably the best song in the film.

BEST MOTION PICTURE, ANIMATED
Flow
Inside Out 2
Memoir of a Snail
Moana 2
Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl
The Wild Robot
Flow is really emerging as the new front runner, isn't it? Can't wait to see it.

BEST MOTION PICTURE, FOREIGN LANGUAGE
All We Imagine As Light
Emilia PĂ©rez
The Girl With the Needle
I’m Still Here
The Seed of the Sacred Fig
Vermiglio
I was so underwhelmed by Emilia Perez that I forgot it's probably a lock for this category. I also had a moment where I was like "I forgot this film wasn't actually Mexican" (It's a French production) then I remembered everything about it and was like "nah, that tracks."

GOLDEN GLOBE FOR CINEMATIC & BOX OFFICE ACHIEVEMENT
Alien: Romulus
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
Deadpool & Wolverine
Gladiator II
Inside Out 2
Twisters
Wicked
The Wild Robot
Vin Diesel presented this award and is truly the last person who should be explaining why it exists because I legit nodded off during his long ass explanation. He did start everything with saying "hey Dwayne" which made me laugh way harder than it should.

The Day Of The Jackal
The Diplomat
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
ShĹŤgun
Slow Horses
Squid Game
This was a no brainer.

BEST LIMITED SERIES, ANTHOLOGY SERIES, OR A MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION

Disclaimer
Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story
The Penguin

True Detective: Night Country
I wish The Penguin could've gotten a win here, but again, I understand why Baby Reindeer is winning.

Kathy Bates – Matlock
Emma D’Arcy – House of the Dragon
Maya Erskine – Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Keira Knightley – Black Doves

Kristen Bell – Nobody Wants This
Quinta Brunson – Abbott Elementary
Ayo Edebiri – The Bear
Selena Gomez – Only Murders in the Building
Kathryn Hahn – Agatha All Along
Jean Smart – Hacks
The contrast of Jean winning, being all calm and collected after Zoe who absolutely lost her mind was hilarious.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A LIMITED SERIES, ANTHOLOGY SERIES, OR A MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION
Cate Blanchett – Disclaimer
Jodie Foster – True Detective: Night Country
Cristin Milioti – The Penguin
Sofia Vergara – Griselda
Naomi Watts – Feud: Capote vs. The Swans

Adam Brody – Nobody Wants This
Ted Danson – A Man on the Inside
Steve Martin – Only Murders in the Building
Jason Segal – Shrinking
Martin Short – Only Murders in the Building
Jeremy Allen White – The Bear
Yes Chef! He was not there to accept or save us from Jennifer Coolidge's' awkward as hell presentation of this category.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A LIMITED SERIES, ANTHOLOGY SERIES, OR A MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION
Colin Farrell – The Penguin
Richard Gadd – Baby Reindeer
Kevin Kline – Disclaimer
Cooper Koch – Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story
Ewan McGregor – A Gentleman in Moscow
Andrew Scott – Ripley
Holy shit! I love this so much. I'm shocked Gadd didn't win, especially after Jessica Gunning did. Farrell's speech was hysterical.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN A TELEVISION SERIES, MUSICAL/COMEDY, OR DRAMA
Tadanobu Asano – ShĹŤgun
Javier Bardem – Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story
Harrison Ford – Shrinking
Jack Lowden – Slow Horses

  1. I didn't watch the thing (then again, I don't have Paramount+ right now) as I did hear about some of the craziness. I will always enjoy seeing Vin Diesel little-bro and troll the Crock because the Crock is a salty little bitch. I am fucking happy for Sebastian Stan, Demi Moore, Keirnan Culkin, and Zoe Saldana. They've been overdue for honors. Chris Evans really needs to follow what Stan is doing. Otherwise, he'd become the American Ryan Reynolds and we don't need that.

    1. I didn't watch on Paramount either. I still have an antenna to get the local channels, so I watched on CBS. I agree with you about Evans. He is dangerously close to going that route.
