2025 Screen Actors Guild Nominations

The devastating wildfires in Los Angeles caused the live show announcing these awards to be cancelled this morning. They came out later via press release (which I came to late because work)  I was really looking forward to these nominations, but it's kind of hard to be excited when you see that much devastation happening. Still, I have my opinions, and we're still in for a very unpredictable Oscar season.

I was really hoping something like The Piano Lesson or even Saturday Night might show up here. I'm rooting for Anora personally.

Adrien, Timothee, Colman and Ralph feel like locks. The question mark was who was going to get that 5th slot, and I'm honestly a little surprised it was Craig! I haven't seen Queer yet, but I was leaning towards Hugh Grant, Sebastian Stan or Jesse Eisenberg before Craig.

Pamela Anderson getting in is a huge surprise, and I feel Angelina Jolie's Oscar changes are dying by the day. I'd be surprised if Pamela repeats at Oscar. I think the rest will though.

Jonathan Bailey getting in his hilarious. He was amazing in Wicked. The big surprise here is Jeremy Strong getting in for the Apprentice WITHOUT Sebastian Stan getting a lead nomination. No Denzel Washington for Gladiator II is pretty surprising. Aside from Kieran and Yura, this category could go a lot of ways.

Monica Barbaro must have a hell of a campaign going on because I've been hearing EVERYONE talk about her this week, and now here she is with a SAG nom. I'm glad SAG continues to give Danielle Deadwyler her much deserved flowers. I really want her to repeat at Oscar.

I realize no one cares about this show except me - but The Rings of Power!! That cast is fantastic and I wish they would be recognized. Same with House of The Dragon. I've only seen Shogun of this bunch, so far. I plan on watching Slow Horses. Maybe one day I'll get to the others.

Love that Cristin also got nominated here! I've said this in the past but I'd really go for Kali Reis over Foster for Night Country. Lily Gladstone is always nice to see, even if Under The Bridge was a let down as a whole. I'm curious about the Jodie/Jessica showdown. Both have been unstoppable in their lead/supporting categories, and now they face off. Which way will they go?

Nicola Goughlan's popularity really took off this year, so good for her for getting this nomination, even if I don't watch the show. I'm still Team Anna.
