2026 Actor Award Predictions
I thought I was losing my mind looking for my "SAG" nomination post only to yet again forget they changed their name to the Actor Awards. After the mess of the BAFTA broadcast, let's hope this one goes smoothly. Below are my guesses for who will win, and in some cases, who should win.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY A CAST IN A MOTION PICTURE
Frankenstein
Hamnet
Marty Supreme
One Battle After Another
Sinners
Who will and should win: Sinners
This is the one place I think Sinners will prevail over One Battle for a top price. Both casts are extremely impressively but I see this body going for Sinners.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY A FEMALE ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE
Jessie Buckley – Hamnet
Rose Byrne – If I Had Legs I’d Kick You
Kate Hudson – Song Sung Blue
Chase Infinity – One Battle After Another
Emma Stone – Bugonia
Who will and should win: Jessie Buckley
I think she's a lock for Best Actress at this point. Byrne could be the upset, but I don't see it happening.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY A MALE ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE
Timothée Chalamet – Marty Supreme
Leonardo DiCaprio – One Battle After Another
Ethan Hawke – Blue Moon
Michael B. Jordan – Sinners
Jesse Plemons – Bugonia
Who will and should win: Timothee Chalamet
My boy Elrond may have upset him at BAFTA, but I think Timmy's back on his win streak here.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY A MALE ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
Miles Caton – Sinners
Benicio del Toro – One Battle After Another
Jacob Elordi – Frankenstein
Paul Mescal – Hamnet
Sean Penn – One Battle After Another
Who will win: Jacob Elordi.
Who should win: Elordi or Caton
Elordi is currently making a portion of this voting body wetter than a rain storm in Wuthering Heights, so that will probably help him succeed here.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY A FEMALE ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
Odessa A’zion – Marty Supreme
Ariana Grande – Wicked: For Good
Amy Madigan – Weapons
Wunmi Mosaku – Sinners
Teyana Taylor – One Battle After Another
Who will win: Amy Madigan
Who should win: Wunmi, Teyana OR Amy
I'm so torn, I think Madigan wins here because of her tenure with this body, but if you asked me this a few days ago, I would've said Teyana. Now with Wunmi taking BAFTA, it could do either way.
OUTSTANDING STUNT ENSEMBLE IN A MOTION PICTURE
F1
Frankenstein
Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning
One Battle After Another
Sinners
Who will and should win: F1
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY AN ENSEMBLE IN A DRAMA SERIES
The Diplomat
Landman
The Pitt
Severance
The White Lotus
Who will and should win: The Pitt.
I'm addicted to this show. I HATE that I have to wait a week for each new episode. Streaming the 1st season all at once made me such a baby. It's crazy because I never bothered with ER or Grey's Anatomy or any other medical show, but something about this just holds me. It's pretty crazy I'm going harder for anything other than Severance to be honest.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY A MALE ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES
Sterling K. Brown – Paradise
Billy Crudup – The Morning Show
Walton Goggins – The White Lotus
Gary Oldman – Slow Horses
Noah Wyle – The Pitt
Who will and should win: Noah Wyle
Sorry, sad guy with greying beard is just too strong to beat. Plus the two actors that could've put up the biggest fight against him (Adam Scott and Diego Luna) aren't even nominated.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY A FEMALE ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES
Britt Lower – Severance
Parker Posey – The White Lotus
Keri Russell – The Diplomat
Rhea Seehorn – Pluribus
Aimee Lou Wood – The White Lotus
Who will win: Rhea Seehorn
Who should win: Britt Lower
I haven't seen Pluribus, so maybe Rhea DOES deserve to win. It wouldn't surprise me considering how good she was in Better Call Saul, I just haven't gotten to it yet.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY AN ENSEMBLE IN A COMEDY SERIES
Abbott Elementary
The Bear
Hacks
Only Murders in the Building
The Studio
Who will win: The Studio
Who should win: Abbott Elementary
I love The Studio too, but I think if we're talking an entire cast on the same wavelength, it's Abbott. They're all equally funny where as The Studio, as great as it is, have some performers that are a bit too over the top. Still, they do deserve and win and it will be sad to see them on stage without Catherine O'Hara.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY A MALE ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES
Ike Barinholtz – The Studio
Adam Brody – Nobody Wants This
Ted Danson – A Man On The Inside
Seth Rogen – The Studio
Martin Short – Only Murders in the Building
Who will and should win: Seth Rogan
It's his time.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY A FEMALE ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES
Kathryn Hahn – The Studio
Catherine O’Hara – The Studio
Jenna Ortega – Wednesday
Jean Smart – Hacks
Kristen Wiig – Palme Royale
Who will and should win: Jean Smart.
Even before Catherine O'Hara's untimely passing, I think Jean Smart had this in the bag. She's been unstoppable with Hacks.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY A MALE ACTOR IN A TELEVISION MOVIE OR LIMITED SERIES
Jason Bateman – Black Rabbit
Owen Cooper – Adolescence
Stephen Graham- Adolescence
Charlie Hunnam – Monster: The Ed Gein Story
Matthew Rhys – The Beast In Me
Who will win: Stephen Graham
Who should win: Owen Cooper
I HATE that SAG doesn't split the TV categories. The only reason I see Graham winning is because he's more well known with the body and several voters have worked with him. I can see them going for that more than the young up and comer, which is a shame because he was wonderful. Maybe Owen's sweetness in Wuthering Heights will also influence voters? Who knows.
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY A FEMALE ACTOR IN A TELEVISION MOVIE OR LIMITED SERIES
Claire Danes – The Beast In Me
Erin Doherty – Adolescence
Sarah Snook – All Her Fault
Christine Tremarco – Adolescence
Michelle Williams – Dying For Sex
Who will and should win: Erin Doherty
Adolescence will sweep here. Nothing but respect for my Princess Ann
OUTSTANDING STUNT ENSEMBLE IN A TELEVISION SERIES
Andor
Landman
The Last of Us
Squid Game
Stranger Things
Who will and should win: Andor
