Thursday Movie Picks: Bank Robberies

This week's theme from Wandering Through the Shelves is bank robberies!

1) The Dark Knight
This is my all time favorite bank robbery scene because it introduced us to Heath Ledger's Joker. So brilliant.

2) Sugar and Spice
This is pure nostalgia for me. This movie is insanely stupid, but I still get a kick out of it.

3) Public Enemies
I toyed with putting The Town here. I think that film was better, but the first robbery scene in Public Enemies was so expertly shot. You've got to appreciate it.

  2. Never saw Sugar and Spice. Pretty sure I just ignored it on purpose, lol. I'm a huge fan of The Dark Knight so no argument from me. Also like Public Enemies...and yes to The Town as well even though you didn't officially pick it. Great work!

  7. What. No Dog Day Afternoon, Quick Change or Killing Zoe. Those movies are the first ones that come to mind for me. for bank robberies. I like the unconventional choices of Sugar and Spice and Public Enemies on here though

  8. I actually never saw Public Enemies. I think the negative press got in the way. If there's one thing Michael Mann does well, it's a bank heist. Need to check it out. Never saw Sugar and Spice either, but it always looked like fun to me.

    1. Sugar and Spice had the misfortune of being released a few months after Bring It On, so I think a lot of people wrote it off as "just another cheerleading movie" when it was so different.
