Thursday Movie Picks: Zombie Movies
This is my first time participating in Wandering Through The Shelve's weekly series. The idea is to talk about three films that fit into the weekly theme. This week is zombie movies, so here are my favorites.
1) Dawn of the Dead (2004)
It's rare that a horror remake is better than the original, but I think this one absolutely is. It found a good balance of humor, gore, and just being generally interesting.
2) Zombieland
I love the cast in this one. Plus, when I first saw this in theaters, it was one that served alcohol during the show, and that just enhanced the whole experience.
3) Shaun of the Dead
I have yet to meet someone that doesn't like this film. This is a parody done right.

Strangely, I haven't seen Dawn of the Dead. I need to di that. Love the other two, though. Great choices.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Dawn of the Dead is awesome. A lot better than the original too.
DeleteI haven't seen Dawn of the Dead either (i know i know), but damn that animated gif!!!!!
ReplyDeletelol. I had an even crazier one on there first, but the link kept breaking.
DeleteIf there is anyone who doesn't like Shaun of the Dead, that person shall be getting the AW-YEAH BOY bitch-slap courtesy of Nick Frost.
ReplyDeleteLMAO! Preach!
DeleteI haven't seen Dawn of the Dead, but awesome choices!
ReplyDeleteYou should check it out, it's wonderful.
DeleteHaven't seen the original Dawn of the Dead though so can't compare but I do like the remake. I'd like to watch the original someday. Great picks with the rest as well...some of the best the genre has to offer.

I think both the original Dawn and Night of the Living Dead are pretty terrible. They didn't age well. Thanks for hosting!
DeleteHi guys!! I never had seen even single movie like that but I am crazy to see such types of movies. So can you suggest me your latest favorite zombie movies ?
ReplyDeleteYou should check out Wander's main page, he has everyone that participated linked there. Thanks for reading!
DeleteI love Zombieland and Shaun of the Dead. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think everyone (rightfully) does!
DeleteDawn of the Dead was one of the better remakes I've seen, also one of the most frightening endings. Zombieland was so-so for me but Harrelson really made it worth seeing
ReplyDeleteYes! I loved the ending to that one as well.
DeleteThose movies are definitely full of blood, gore and entertainment. Others might find them gruesome, but their plots will really keep you from turning your monitor off. Anyway, I’m looking forward to reading about more interesting movies in your future posts. Have a great day, Brittani! :)
ReplyDeleteSimon Walker @ The ViewLorium
Perfect list! Love these zombie flicks.
