What I Watched on TV In October

Another month, another update on what I've been watching on the small screen. Here's what's been keeping me busy in October. 


Barry - I finished Barry at the beginning of the month. I talked about it more in my September post when I started it, but lets just say I'll definitely be watching season 3.

Succession - This is a show I've been meaning to start for ages. I think the pilot is actually the weakest episode, it gets so much better after that. I'm looking forward to watching this weekly when it comes back. It's not the most bingable show, so I think I'll appreciate it more spaced out. The ending to the second season was amazing.

Mr. Robot - I was so pumped for this to come back then they killed my favorite character in the first 5 minutes of the premiere. That was not a great start. I also forgot how annoying it is to watch something on cable. Since Better Call Saul has been off, none of my other shows I've been watching live are on cable. I keep getting severe weather notifications during the show so I miss big parts. I think that, plus the long wait between last season is contributing to me getting flat out confused at times so far. 
Watchmen - While we're only two episodes in, I'm really liking the direction they've taken so far with this show. There's nice comic easter eggs in there, but you're not required to have a lot of knowledge of it. Regina King is wonderful. The show is highly uncomfortable at times but the story is so interesting.

    I cannot wait for Succession to come back, ugh it's gonna be such a long wait

    Barry is my jam on this list, so deliciously odd. I watcched some Mr. Robot in the beginning but I just can't do normal TV.

      I liked it so much better when I gave it a second chance. I'm glad I did.

      Normal TV sucks when streaming and premium channels spoil us with no commercials or interruptions. lol

    I haven't had time to see Watchmen yet the big reason I want to see it is for the score by Trent & Atticus of NIN.

    I can't wait to see what they do with Barry in season 3! I almost wished I had watched it slower so I wouldn't have to wait as long :)

    Nice picks! I'm still recovering from my binge of horror movies. I can't wait to check out Watchmen and see how it differs from the comic and movie.

    I'm desperately trying to catch up on Mr. Robot so I can at least watch the finale at the right time! I always feel confused as hell watching it, but it still leaves me wanting more.

Indie Gems: Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon

Passionate about your profession? I had never heard of this film until it ended up on one of Jason's favorite horror movie lists around Halloween. It immediately sounded interesting to me, so of course I threw it in my Netflix queue. (and if I'm just now watching it after adding it around Halloween, you know how ridiculous my queue is) Taylor (Angela Goethals) is a journalist who, along with a film crew decides to follow around a serial killer named Leslie Vernon. (Nathan Baesel) He plans on doing the typical slasher thing - getting a bunch of drunk teens in an abandoned house and knocking them off one by one. He gets advice from a retired serial killer, Eugene (Scott Wilson) and is threatened by a man who's on to him, Doc Holloran (Robert Englund) Taylor and crew are there capturing it all. Earlier this week I made a post where I ran through the letters of the alphabet with my favorite movie titles. There were a few people that suggested I turn it into a blogathon, and I've never done that before. So here goes nothing!
