The Best Shots of the Decade: 2010
This month, I wanted to start sharing "Decade" posts celebrating the 2010's. It's extra fitting that this year is the 10 anniversary of Rambling Film. I decided to split up each year, with 10 gifs from 10 different films. Here are some shots that stood out to me. Let's get a start on 2010.
Inception
Black Swan
YEY for Never Let Me Go! What an underrated movie this is. Beautifully shot too, I love the one you picked!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Never Let Me Go was gorgeous it was hard to just chose one shot.
DeleteYeah, I can't say no to these choices as I'm planning to do something for the 2010s really soon as it's likely to happen in 2022 just so I can catch up on the 2010s films that I've missed so far...
ReplyDeleteOhh cool! I'd love to see how we match up. 2022 is a long ways away though!
DeleteDoes 2019 have any best shots?
ReplyDeleteWe haven't finished the year yet.
DeleteOh man - I can't wait to see the rest of these posts! 2010 was a crazily good year for movies, I keep forgetting.
ReplyDeleteIt was, easily one of the strongest of the decade.
DeleteHoly shit I love this. So we can expect 9 more of these posts!? So so cool.
ReplyDeleteAnd great choices for 2010. Mara’s face in that shot is incredible, and I love that Blue Valentine gif!
Yes! Every Monday and Friday..2019 will have to be later because I'm sure everything I love won't be available to gif yet.
DeleteBlue Valentine is such a beautiful film but I find it hard to re-watch because it's so sad.
Love them! From your list, my favorites are Inception and How to train a dragon! My own list would probably include something from Steve McQueen (Shame) and from Park Chan-wook (Handmaiden)
ReplyDeleteMy bad, I just realized it was only from 2010 :) can't wait to see the rest
Deletelol I think I have both of those in their respective years as well anyways. The Handmaiden was GORGEOUS
DeleteInception, Black Swan & Scott Pilgrim vs The World knocked it out of the park visually. A great year for cinema. I want to buy a spinning top if I see one somewhere. Maybe when Nolan gets his own museum like Kubrick :)
ReplyDeleteHe should have one already lol
DeleteAwesome post! I especially loved the Shutter Island and How to Train Your Dragon images!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a sucker for HTTYD, those films just worked for me so well.
DeleteI love that shot from The Social Network. Rooney Mara has the best face, and Fincher so gets that. And how perfect a shot to capture the theme of that film. The villain that is Zuckerberg in one look.
ReplyDeleteYES. It's one of my favorites of all time, she was just perfect and said so much with that one look.
DeleteAwesome picks! I'll never forget the ending to Inception and how it kept everyone on edge when the credits hit. All of these selections are pretty perfect. Nice to see Fish Tank included - it's really underrated.
ReplyDeleteI love Inception, such a wonderful film. I miss seeing JGL in movies. Fish Tank is so underrated. I'm going to have to watch it again soon.
DeleteThat last one.. right in the feels.
ReplyDeleteI love HTTYD lol
DeleteSo many good shots here. Those shots from Inception and Black Swan in particular are simply iconic.
ReplyDeleteThank YOU so much for reading and commenting on all these posts! <3
