What I watched on TV in November

Mr. Robot - Sam Esmail is just showing off. There have been some beautifully directed and acted episodes this month, on top of a huge revelation about Mr. Robot. I still think the way they went about said revelation was wrong. Bringing back a character that has long been done with the series, then wasting our time with him, only to kill him afterwards...I just felt it they could've told it another way. Dom has been the standout for me this season and I loved her final badass moment.

Watchmen - This show outdoes itself with every episode. It's so beautifully shot and even though there's plenty of weird things in it, it still balances a very serious tone and a harsh look into the racism of my country.

His Dark Materials - This is getting better. I still feel like they info dumped quite a bit of things on me as a non book reader but it's become easier to follow and I like that Dafne has a bit more agency than she did in the first few episodes. 

The Crown- This season is hard to get into. I like Colman, but Claire Foy was just too perfect in this role, I think. And I find it so distracting that they didn't change her or Helena Bonham-Carter's eye color. They don't feel like Elizabeth and Margaret

Fleabag - I liked this a lot! It was such a quick binge My favorite line has got to be "I have two degrees, a husband and a Burberry coat!" I laughed so hard at that. Hot Priest was just as hot as I was promise. Andrew Scott...mmmmm

The Mandalorian - AKA the Baby Yoda show because holy shit, I'm obsessed with that little guy. I will quite literally lose my mind if something bad happens to him. Cuteness overload aside, I'm really liking this so far. It's shot very well and they introduce a few things from the animated series that are a joy to see in a live action setting. I can't wait to see what happens next.

    Favreau better know if he so much as makes this cutie sad....I cannot believe they put that shot of little one being aimed at and we heard the shot. Jesus!

    Baby Yoda!!!! I have yet to watch an episode of The Mandalorian but Baby Yoda has me wanting to. Watchmen is a show I need to watch while my mother is interested in His Dark Materials. The only show I've been watching is Mrs. Fletcher as I'm just in awe of Kathryn Hahn.

    I watched one episode of His Dark Materials and was so not impressed. Haven't read the books either.
    Also, yes hot priest!

    I keep thinking that I'll maybe get tired of Baby Yoda eventually but no...I love that little guy so much.
    I've finally finished Season 3 of Mr. Robot and now I'm desperately trying to watch Season 4 so I can at least watch the final episode at the right time!

Indie Gems: Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon

Passionate about your profession? I had never heard of this film until it ended up on one of Jason's favorite horror movie lists around Halloween. It immediately sounded interesting to me, so of course I threw it in my Netflix queue. (and if I'm just now watching it after adding it around Halloween, you know how ridiculous my queue is) Taylor (Angela Goethals) is a journalist who, along with a film crew decides to follow around a serial killer named Leslie Vernon. (Nathan Baesel) He plans on doing the typical slasher thing - getting a bunch of drunk teens in an abandoned house and knocking them off one by one. He gets advice from a retired serial killer, Eugene (Scott Wilson) and is threatened by a man who's on to him, Doc Holloran (Robert Englund) Taylor and crew are there capturing it all. Earlier this week I made a post where I ran through the letters of the alphabet with my favorite movie titles. There were a few people that suggested I turn it into a blogathon, and I've never done that before. So here goes nothing!
